The next edition of the “Architectural Sketches” contest is underway! The deadline for submitting works is January 15
Entries are still open for the “Architectural Sketches” competition, which is organized by the Poznań International Fair and partnered by the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland and the SARP Poznań Branch. The watchword for this year's edition is: “Wood in Architecture”. The competition is intended for architecture students and high school students .
The main purpose of the competition is to showcase the workshop skills of university architecture students and high school students using traditional techniques. The watchword of this year's edition is “Wood in Architecture.” Competition works can be submitted until January 15, 2024 directly to the organizer's headquarters, i.e., the Poznań International Fair, or sent by mail. From among all submitted works, a professional jury will identify 10 nominees, and the official settlement of the competition, i.e. the selection of the three best works whose authors will receive financial awards, will take place on February 12, 2025 during the BUDMA 2024 International Construction and Architecture Fair.
Once again, the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland and SARP (Association of Architects of the Republic of Poland) Poznań Branch are among the project's partners, providing substantive support and professional jury. In turn, the honorary patron of this year's edition of the competition is Wojciech Hildebrandt, M.Sc., a versatile artist, architect and educator.
- We expect from the participants of the competition a spontaneous, intuitive record of their own emotions, in the form of artistic expression using a whole set of means of expression appropriate to drawing. Let this year's slogan be the broadest possible inspiration. Creative, non-obvious works are to visualize how differently these words can be understood. What is important in this competition is to show how rich the language of art is, what variety lies in the creative approach to the subject, what value artistic bravado brings. What is equally important is to indicate in the works care for the environment, which can be manifested in the creation of responsible and functional architecture of an object or space,” said Bartosz Jarosz, chairman of the Wielkopolska Regional Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland.
The mandatory format of the work - A4, A3 or 50x70cm sheet. The work should be made using traditional techniques (e.g., pencil, rapidograph, pen, marker or crayon), and the number of colors used to create it is arbitrary.
